Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (DS)

I’m a sucker for Resident Evil. We’ve already established that, more than once. So it’s only right that I should wax lyrical and enthuse A LOT about a handheld version. Deadly Silence has two modes. The first is a straight port of the PS1 version (i.e. the original) and the second, Deadly Silence, is a

It’s ACE! It’s mental madness though. Imagine a real time strategy game. Then imagine it as a direct-control third person shooter. With vehicles. Then make it all cartoony. That’s pretty much Battalion Wars. I’ve only done the first few missions so far, but my fingers are nearly bleeding with frenzied button pressing. Graphically, the game

Bah! 109 bells for white turnips. That’s RUBBISH! I’m beginning to think Nook and Joan are in cahoots :-/ Did some low-scale deforestation this morning, and replaced a load of the deciduous trees with nice fruit trees. And my palm has grown successfully. I must resist the temptation to sell the coconuts, though, cos I

Another of those ‘I really should give this a go’ games. Only done the first five (largely tutorial) missions. Just really saying I’ve started, is all. It’s a strange thing about this series. Humph. Sold my turnips this morning. 177 bells each – not great, but the highest it’s been all week. I just know Nook will drop the price after lunch so I thought I’d quit while I was ahead. If he goes up to 500 bells this afternoon, I’ll NOT be pleased.

In Which Many Things Are Resolved. Well, after buying loads of turnips on Sunday for 94 bells a go, I anxiously checked out Nook the Crook’s prices this morning. 74 bells! RUBBISH! So, I checked back in after lunch – 72 bells! RUBBISHEST! So, instead of making vast quantities of bells on the Stalk

And so it begins all over again. The only thing that prevented the original GameCube Animal Crossing obsession from continuing was that it was such a hassle getting time on the telly, doing the whole freeloader swappy thing, switching memory cards and so on. On the DS, you switch it on and it’s all there.

No way! I discovered a cool thing that I never noticed before! On the title page, if you press R you get a music player so you can listen to all the music that’s been unlocked during gameplay (like it does in Fire Emblem). Given that the music is magnificent, this is a Good Thing(tm).
