The End of Procrastination

Well, it’s been done. The flights are booked for the 31st of October, so we’re off to Oz. We’re spending the coming week doing all our pre-departure visiting, as well as fun things like setting up bank accounts and packing. It’s all going to be a bit of an adventure really!

Woo and indeed hoo! The courier is on his way to take the passports off for evidencing. This usually takes five working days. We’re booking flights for the 31st of October. It’s cutting it fine, but then the prices skyrocket in November so it’s worth the risk. I think. AAAARGH! [0] Too many badly translated

Not Today

….although we kinda expected it would be. Our sponsor called DIMA last night to ask for an update on timescales, as they need to arrange time off work. Our case officer assured him she’d be working on our application on Wednesday or Thursday, meaning we should have heard this morning. Never mind – maybe tomorrow.

Is there anybody out there?

We discovered, purely by accident, on Thursday night, that our case officer was on holiday on Thursday on Friday. So nothing was done those two days. Dalkeith, Midlothian

It’s strange how things manage to change but nonetheless remain the same. Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose, as Rush said – although they said it nicer, with accents in all the right places and I’m on a PC which isn’t kind to foreign languages. A fair percentage of my memories of the

Weekly “Nothing is happening” post

Gah, this is frustrating. We have a leaving party planned for Saturday. I leave my work a week on Friday. It would be nice if we actually had the visa granted by then! Really, it’s down to the last day or two now, but that day or two of processing is dependant on the Australian
