Legend of Zelda – The Minish Cap (GBA)

Guhhhh. Had my bottom handed to me on a plate with a nice side serving of lettuce. The end of game boss is….. tough. He’d be less tough if he was a bit nearer the save point though. First you have to cross a bridge with an annoying swingy macey person, then gub fifty million wolfy things then bump off three fiendishly difficult black knights and THEN you get to the boss. The first stage is reasonable straightforward. The second form is just evil.

Knowing Zelda games, though, that won’t actually be the end of game boss. Bah.

Incidentally, I wouldn’t suggest even attempting it without the ultimate spin attack.

Roll Attack GET!

And I got another bit of heart container – I have officially Rull Realth[0]! Now. Must stop playing Zelda. Work to do.

[0] It should probably be noted at this point that “Rull Realth” is a hangover from Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights – a game which I urge you to buy immediately. It was completely hammered by the press but I have completed it four times now. Not only that, but I was at 98% when a third party memory card decided to give up the ghost and corrupted the save. With any other game I’d have been livid but 100 Frights is such a joy to play that I just shrugged and started again. It is ACEBEST. I currently have the GameCube version but it suffers from strangely metallic sound – given that the sound is one of the funniest things in the game, I’d suggest picking up the PS2 version. Note: Night of 100 Frights should not be mistaken for the truly dreadful Mystery Mayhem.

Legend of Zelda – The Minish Cap (GBA)

Hah! No way am I tackling the boss yet! I’ve just realised I only have four of the sword attack power ups and I need to have all seven before I can learn the über-swipe. So, I’m off on another four quests. First it’s off to Mount Crenel to learn the Roll Attack. Then it’s off to Lake Hylia to learn the peril beam. Then I can pop back to the castle to learn the flame blade thingy. Then I have to pop over to Castor Wilds to learnify the ultimate spin attack.

Question is, once I’ve got through that lot, should I go doing more joiny uppy emblemmy things?

Gaaaaah – how can so much work be crammed onto such a teensy cartridge?
