Castlevania – Aria of Sorrow (GBA via DS Lite)

Aria of Sorrow Cover ArtI know, I know, I didn’t mean it, alright? I was happily playing Final Fantasy III and I reached into my wee bag to dig out the charger for the DS Lite and Aria of Sorrow just kind of looked at me with a mournful expression on its wee plasticky face.

So, I’ve started my third Castlevania game this year. But it had to be done. Anyway, it plays pretty much the same as Dawn of Sorrow but (hushed whisper) I think it’s actually a little prettier than both Dawn and Harmony of Dissonance – better use of colour. The audio is certainly leaps ahead of Harmony. So far, I’ve got one part of the map and ganked two bosses. It’s actually quite refreshing to go into a boss fight without having to clutch the stylus in my teeth ready for the seal drawing.

I’ve covered as much of the exposed map as I can, and now I need to head DOWN to get to the next new area. No sign of a shop yet and I have very limited potions so here’s hoping I find one soon…..
