Castlevania – Harmony of Dissonance (GBA)

Harmony of Dissonance Cover Crushing Stone GET! So, I can now do a chargy-uppy-bashy-wally-type-thing which should open up a metric buttload of previously inaccesible areas. It’s the kind of thing you just equip as and when you need it because it lowers the overall damage of the whip quite considerably, but not to worry.

So – I bumped into Maxim-but-not-Maxim in a little room and, after helpfully revealing some more of the plot to me, he morphed into a big shadowy growly thing which I whippored. Then he decided he’d rather be a sword and a moth, and then a cat again, but each successive form was equally thwarted by my leathery tendril of righteousness. So – another boss down and back to the save point. I never want this game to end.

One downside, though, is that my eyes have been going just a little googly with squinting at the micro so obsessively – particularly when scanning for those telltale one-pixel gaps which hint at unvisited rooms. I think I’m going to transplant the cart into the DS Lite for a while. Which is, of course, an absolute tragedy because my GBA Micro hasn’t really left my side for well over a year now 🙁
