Internet Card Fraud

Ok, so a couple of weeks ago, some unscrupulous ‘tard nicked a couple of hundred quid out of our bank account and blew it in an online casino. Which leaves us to do all the legwork making and chasing a fraud claim – frankly, it’s a pain in the neck. 

Well, it just so happens that one of the people I work with has just had something very similar happen. Like me, my workmate is absolutely scrupulous about internet security (after all, we’ve been in the industry long enough). Also like me, my workmate uses the card pretty exclusively for online shopping. At most of the same places as me – amazon, paypal, and so on.

So, here’s my theory. I suspect that some online retailer has either “lost” a pile of data or been compromised and they’re keeping quiet about it. Unfortunately for them, I keep records of every single transaction I make, so I will track them down…..
