Castlevania – Aria of Sorrow (GBA)

Aria of Sorrow - Giant GhostSee what I mean about it being pretty and colourful? Anyway – I’ve uncovered 34.1% of the map and really only popped back to Hammer (that man has a one-track-mind) to stock up on potions after Headhunter made me use them all. I’ve got a pretty good idea where to go next, but there’s a couple of areas I want to nose around in first, now that I have the slidy-through-gaps ability. I also have a nice big axe which, although slow, has a better damage area than my little hammer. Still, Castlevania without a whip is strangely wrong.

  • Big slow axes FTL. A fast rapier-type weapon, or a medium speed longsword are far better, I’ve found. They might be less powerful, but can get so many more hits in than the axes, maces, etc.
