Not Today

….although we kinda expected it would be. Our sponsor called DIMA last night to ask for an update on timescales, as they need to arrange time off work. Our case officer assured him she’d be working on our application on Wednesday or Thursday, meaning we should have heard this morning. Never mind – maybe tomorrow.

I’m growing tired of saying “we’re in the last few days” because we’ve been in the last few days for the last fifteen. Yes, really, it’s fifteen days since the bond was lodged.

The migration process is not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of determination and a lot more patience. Maybe it’s designed that way to prevent people doing it without thinking it through properly. Or maybe they’re just evil.

We have an option on some very good flights, via Cathay Pacific, flying out on the 31st of October. Unfortunately, they have to be confirmed by the end of the day tomorrow. If we don’t here from the case officer, we’ll have to abandon those flights and end up paying a lot more in November.

So – nothing to say but wait and see.
