Animal Crossing Wild World

Animal Crossing: Wild World Cover

And so it begins all over again. The only thing that prevented the original GameCube Animal Crossing obsession from continuing was that it was such a hassle getting time on the telly, doing the whole freeloader swappy thing, switching memory cards and so on. On the DS, you switch it on and it’s all there.

So, there we have it. I had deKay over to visit last night and he brought some yummy fruit, which I promptly planted. He also wrote a rude message in the sky (grr) which I had to delete. I then popped over to his place and found that he’s been paying Nook FAR too much, if the size of the shop is anything to go by. Fortunately, his Nook had a shovel, which I had a clear and present NEED for, so I got that. Then came home.

Lyle the insurance person bugged me extensively in the morning, resulting in the loss of 3,000 bells. If he comes back he’s going to get a punch in the face. I hung about for a while wondering why Joan the turnip salesperson wasn’t turning up (cos I want to play the Stalk Market). It was at this point that I realised the DS thought it was Saturday. Eh? though I. But the date’s right – it’s the 2nd April. Oh no! With hideous realisation, I checked the DS’s internal settings and discovered that I had, for some bizarre reason, set it to 2005.

Well, nothing for it but to set the clock a YEAR forward, pick the copious amounts of weeds out, and try and console all the various animals who’re no longer speaking to me because I’ve missed all their birthdays. Got plenty of turnips though. Wish I’d thought to stick my bells in the Post Office savings account before doing it…….
