Sword of Mana (GBA)

Fun though Kirby may be, it’s no lunchtime-devouring RPG – although it will certainly fill the ‘keep in a pocket for a quick blast’ slot. Sword of Mana, on the other hand, looks like the perfect way to bridge the gap between Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. It’s a Sqenix title, so seems outwardly familiar, although it does use a real-time combat system rather than a turn based one. I’m crap at real time stuff, but we’ll see.

I’ve played it for somewhere in the region of 16 minutes, so really can’t comment on it yet. From the manual, though, it appears there’s a pretty deep upgrade and customisation system lurking beneath the surface. Should be interesting.
